A quote from Grace Hopper - "The most damaging phrase in the language is "We've always done it this way!"

About

I’m a freelance IT professional originally from London, England – starting off in professional theatre as a theatre technician, and then moving into IT.

I’ve worked with several major cultural organisations – most recently as Director of Data & Systems at Sadler’s Wells Theatre in London. During my time there I became a Bloomberg Tech Fellow, taking part in the second cohort of Bloomberg’s Digital Accelerator Programme.

I’m an IT generalist – I have a wide breath of skills in many areas from support to strategy, desktop to web. Of late I’ve been particularly involved with process automation – particularly no-code/low-code such as Microsoft’s PowerAutomate, and developing process automations in SharePoint Online.

A phrase I live by is “Why is it like that? Can it be improved? Is there anything I can do to make it better?”.

I believe that the greatest value an IT professional can provide is being the interface between people needing to get things done and the IT tools and systems that can help them – the tools should fade into the background and let people focus on their goals.

Good examples of my work are my Audience Survey Platform for Cultural Organisations and automating contract generation with Adobe Sign. If you’d like me to do something similar for your organisation drop me a line.
